RecordingsMeeting Mode
Screen Capture
Record meeting audio from a browser tab or application window.
Screen capture records audio playing on your computer — ideal for video calls on Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, or web-based hearings.
Setup
- Open New recording
- Select Meeting mode
- Choose Screen capture as the source
- Click Start — your browser opens a picker
Select a source
The browser asks which tab, window, or screen to share:
- Browser tab — best for web-based calls (recommended)
- Window — capture a specific application
- Entire screen — captures all system audio from that display
Check Share audio (or equivalent) in the browser picker. Without it, only video is captured and transcription will fail.
Optional microphone
You can combine screen audio with your microphone input to capture both sides of a call — remote participants through the tab, your voice through the mic.
During capture
- The selected source is locked while recording — you cannot switch tabs mid-capture
- Audio level meters show both screen and mic input
- Click Pause to stop and begin processing
Processing
Screen-captured meetings follow the same diarization pipeline as microphone meetings. Speaker labels appear in the transcript after processing.
Tips
- Share the meeting tab directly, not the entire screen, for cleaner audio
- Mute notifications on the shared tab to avoid alert sounds in the transcript
- Test a short capture first to verify audio is being picked up
- Use headphones to prevent echo if also using your microphone
If capture fails
- Ensure the browser has screen-sharing permission
- Try a different browser (Chrome or Edge recommended)
- Restart the capture — the Start over action clears failed state
