RecordingsMeeting Mode
Meeting Mode
Record and transcribe multi-speaker meetings and interviews.
Meeting mode handles conversations with multiple speakers — client interviews, depositions, team calls, and conferences.
When to use meeting mode
| Scenario | Mode |
|---|---|
| Solo memo or letter | Dictation |
| Interview or call with multiple speakers | Meeting |
| Record audio from a video call on screen | Screen capture |
How it works
- Select Meeting on the Recorder tab
- Choose Microphone or Screen capture as the audio source
- Record or upload audio
- Ardela identifies speakers and labels segments
- Review speaker labels in the Transcript tab
- Generate notes with templates
Speaker labels
After transcription, each segment shows a speaker label (e.g. Speaker 1, Speaker 2). Click labels to rename them — for example, to "Client" and "Attorney".
Generated notes preserve speaker attribution and timestamps as citations.
Guides
- Microphone meetings — in-person and phone-on-speaker
- Screen capture — record from a browser tab or window
Upload meeting audio
You can upload existing multi-speaker files in meeting mode. Supported formats and limits are the same as audio upload.
Tips
- State participant names at the start for easier label assignment
- Use a central microphone for in-person meetings
- For video calls, screen capture often gives cleaner audio than a room mic
