Ardela Voice
Desktop push-to-talk dictation for any application.
Ardela Voice is a desktop app for system-wide dictation. It inserts transcribed text directly into whatever application you are using — email, Word, case management systems, and more.
Ardela Voice is separate from web Recordings. The desktop app inserts text inline; web recordings create full sessions with transcripts, templates, and export.
Features
- Push-to-talk — hold a hotkey to record, release to transcribe and insert
- Live preview — see words as you speak
- AI cleanup — automatic formatting and punctuation
- Universal insertion — works in any application on your computer
- Always-on-top widget — minimal floating pill interface
Platforms
Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Download from your workspace or contact your admin for the installer.
How it differs from web recordings
| Ardela Voice (desktop) | Web Recordings | |
|---|---|---|
| Use case | Quick insertion anywhere | Full session with transcript, notes, export |
| Output | Text pasted into active app | Saved recording in Ardela |
| Templates | No | Yes |
| Client/matter linking | No | Yes |
| Queue / transcribers | No | Yes |
Use both: Ardela Voice for quick field dictation, web recordings for formal notes and meeting transcription.
Default hotkey
Push-to-talk uses a global hotkey (default Ctrl+Meta on supported platforms). Change it in the desktop app settings.
After insertion
A small bubble appears with:
- Undo — revert the insertion
- Retry — run AI cleanup again
- Verbatim — insert raw transcript without cleanup
Account and sync
