Ardela Mobile
Capture, trim, and upload Voice drafts from iOS or Android.
Ardela Mobile combines native audio capture with the responsive Ardela Workspace. Use it to record legal dictation away from a desk, keep a local draft, and upload the reviewed timeline when you have a network connection.
The native app signs into an existing Ardela account. Create an account or accept a Workspace invitation before signing in on mobile.
What is native
The mobile recorder supports:
- dictation capture on iOS and Android;
- one or more saved audio parts;
- local draft titles and timelines;
- trim, cut, insert, overwrite, undo, and redo controls;
- foreground upload into an Ardela Recording.
The rest of the signed-in product, including server Recordings, transcripts, generated content, and Clara, is shown through the online Workspace inside the app.
Capture a mobile draft
- Open the native recorder.
- Enter a useful title.
- Select Start and dictate.
- Select Pause to save the current part.
- Resume if you need another part.
- Review and trim the local timeline.
Pause saves a part. Mobile does not show a live transcript and does not transcribe the draft at this point.
Finalise and upload
When the draft is ready and the device is online:
- Open the local draft.
- Select Finalise.
- Keep Ardela Mobile open and in the foreground while it uploads.
- Wait for the uploaded Recording to open.
- Ardela runs batch transcription after the submitted audio is prepared.
Upload does not continue as a background task. If it is interrupted, reopen the local draft while online and try again.
Offline boundaries
Offline access is limited to native local drafts:
- You can capture, reopen, and edit a local draft without a connection.
- You cannot browse server Recordings, transcripts, generated documents, Clara, Matters, or forms offline.
- Reconnecting does not automatically upload or Finalise a draft.
- Upload requires a network connection and the app must stay in the foreground.
Follow the firm's device, recording, and client-confidentiality policy. A local draft remains on the device until it is successfully submitted or discarded.
Review after upload
Once the current transcript is ready:
- Check it against the source audio.
- Correct names, dates, amounts, legal terms, and substantive meaning.
- Confirm the client and matter if the recording belongs on a file.
- Generate a note or document only from the corrected transcript.
- Share the draft to the matter when the team should see it.
- Have the responsible fee-earner review the generated draft before export or filing.
Mobile submission does not automatically share generated documents to a matter.
