Extraction and Review
Define Pillar columns, run extraction, and verify cited values.
Each column in a Pillar Table asks the same question of the source documents. Extraction produces a reviewable value and, where the source supports it, a citation.
A Pillar created on a matter is shared with that matter from the start. Standalone Pillars keep their own access until you select Share to matter. See Pillars.
Create a column
Give each column a clear title and instruction. State the information you need, the format to use, and what to do when the source is silent.
Common column types include:

| List | Several related items from one source |
The maximum columns per Table are 10 on Starter, 50 on Pro, and 100 on Enterprise.
Run extraction
- Open the Table.
- Add or review the column instructions.
- Select the documents to include where prompted.
- Run extraction.
- Wait for the cells to finish before beginning review.
Monthly extraction allowances per user are 100 on Starter, 500 on Pro, and 2,500 on Enterprise.
Review an extracted value
- Open the cell.
- Follow its citation to the source document.
- Read the surrounding text and related provisions.
- Correct the value if the source supports a different result.
- Flag unresolved issues or mark the value as reviewed.
Do not treat the presence of a citation as confirmation that the extracted value is complete or legally significant.
Rerun and protect reviewed work
Rerun extraction after changing a column instruction or when a value needs to be regenerated. Review the new result and citation as if it were a new answer.
Use the available review controls to flag work that needs attention and protect values that should not be replaced by a later rerun.
Ask cited questions
Clara can answer questions about the permitted documents in a Pillar. Review every cited answer against the source, especially where documents conflict or important material may be missing.
Export
Download a reviewed Table in a supported spreadsheet format when you need to continue the analysis outside Ardela. Recheck formatting and source references after export.
