Case Management

Tasks, deadlines, time tracking, and calendar for matters in Ardela.

Case management extends clients and matters with operational tools for tracking work. All features require a Pro or Enterprise plan.

Tasks & deadlines

Create tasks on any matter to track follow-ups, filings, and deadlines.

  1. Open a matter
  2. Go to the Tasks tab (or open Tasks from the clients sidebar at /clients/tasks)
  3. Click New task
  4. Set title, assignee, priority, and due date

Task statuses: To do, In progress, Blocked, Done, Cancelled.

Assignees receive notifications when tasks are assigned, due soon, or overdue.

Workspace task view

Clients → Tasks (/clients/tasks) shows tasks across all matters with filters for assignee, status, priority, and due date.

Time tracking

Log billable or non-billable time against a matter:

  1. Open a matter
  2. Add a time entry with duration, description, and date
  3. View entries in the matter timeline

Permissions for time entries follow your workspace role. Transcribers can view but not create time entries by default.

Key dates & calendar

Track important dates on matters — hearings, filing deadlines, limitation periods — and view them on the workspace calendar.

  • Add key dates from a matter page
  • Open Calendar at /clients/calendar for a workspace-wide view

Matter documents

Attach documents directly to a matter (separate from pillar documents and recording exports). Upload from the matter page and access files from the activity timeline.
